墙内开花墙外香。除了供应教堂的彩绘玻璃，土山湾孤儿院也接受社会机构和个人的订单。正因如此，目前上海保留下来的有迹可循的土山湾彩绘玻璃都位于公共或是私人建筑上。按照时间先后，分别位于：原法国总会（南昌路47号）和原私人住宅（余庆路190号和瑞金宾馆总统楼）。

彩釉玻璃是将无机釉料（又称油墨），印刷到玻璃表面，然后经烘干，钢化或热化加工处理，将釉料永久结于玻璃表面而得到一种耐磨，耐酸碱的装饰性玻璃产品。
